REASON FOR LOSS:

Fl/Sgt Kelly was killed at the R.C.A.F. station in Yorkshire when he walked into a moving propeller of a Wellington. During an operation to Wuppertal, Germany on the 29th May 1943 he had shot down a German JU-88 aircraft and this action was confirmed the day before he was killed.
