REASON FOR LOSS:
On the Tuesday morning of the 20th July, F/L. Deugo took off for a Rhubarb mission to Ypres, Belgium, over the target area his aircraft was hit by Flak and his Typhoon crashed killing him instantly. Note: Just under a year earlier whilst serving with No.56 Squadron he was on patrol in Typhoon Ib R7678 with Sgt K. M Stewart-Turner, Typhoon R8199, when they were attacked and shot down by Spitfires of No.401 Squadron off Dover. Deugo succeeded in baling out but sadly Turner was killed in the incident.
