One of 16 Spitfires lost on this day, 13 from Circus 122 to Hazebrouck Marshalling Yards, shot down by FW190s from JG26 and crashed near St. Omer. P/O van der Stok (Dutch) baled out and became a POW, he later escaped in the "Great Escape" March 1944, and returned to England.
