REASON FOR LOSS:
One of three Spitfires from 350 Squadron shot down in combat with Fw 190s of III/JG26, one of these claimed by III Group CO Hptm Priller, his 73rd Vitory. 350 squadron were providing target cover for Hurricane - bombers to Bruges. The squadron encountered a large formation of Fw-190's and P/O. Livyns who was flying as Blue 4 was shot down. Classed as missing but commemoraated on the Runnymede Memorial.
