Pilot: Sgt. Karel Janata 788040 R.A.F.V.R. Killed

REASON FOR LOSS:

Took off from Bold Head, Devon at 12.25 hrs with Fl/Lt Bergman to check wind and weather off the French coast. Around 10 minutes into the flight they hit dense fog and the aircraft hit the sea killing Karel Janata. His body was not recovered and is commemorated on the Runnymede War Memorial.
