REASON FOR LOSS:
Bob Hunter trained in Fort William, Ontario, Canada on Tiger Moth's during 1941 and then at Dunsville, Ontario where he graduated with his wings. His first posting overseas was with 58 0.T.U at Grangemouth, Scotland. He finished his course on October 2nd 1941. His log book shows that his first flight with 129 Squadron on February 19th 1942. His first operational trip was on March 10th 1942.
He was killed due to possible oxygen starvation on a Rodeo in the afternoon of 28th March 1942 and crashed into the sea off Étretat, Northern France.
We appreciate the assistance with this article from George Hunter (relative of Bob) Bob's younger brothers also joined the R.C.A.F. but later on, during the 1950's.
