REASON FOR LOSS:
Hawker Hurricane I R4213 was the latest Hurricane to be supplied to the squadron and just a few weeks out of the factory.
This aircraft was shot down in combat with enemy aircraft over the Thames Estuary, London at 16.54 hrs. The Hurricane came down at Jacks Hatch, Epping Green, Essex - aircraft a write-off.
