REASON FOR LOSS:
The Staffel took off for convoy escort mission at 18.00
hours. After completing the mission they headed back to
Liegescourt.
Uffz Schwarz came into land but had to make a second
attempt, as he came round again his engine started to fail.
Uffz Schwarz desperately tried to make a forced landing but
the port wing caught the ground, the head armour struck the
pilot and the aircraft crashed. Paul Schwarz was rushed to
Abbevolle hospital but died on the way without gaining
conciousness.
