Pilot: Hauptmann Fritz Richard Geisshardt 53532/3 (He died on 6th April at the Kriegslazerett 2/617 Gent from wounds sustained. Born 22.01.1919 in Sonnefeld/Koburg.)

REASON FOR LOSS:

Hauptmann Geisshardt, Gruppenkommandeur and holder of the Knights Cross attacked the enemy bomber force at a height of 8,000 metres in the Gent area at 15.15 hours. During the attack his aircraft received hits by return fire from the bombers. He was badly wounded and headed back to the Gent and managed to crash land on the airfield. He passed away at 05.30 hours on the 6th April due to his terrible wounds and injuries.
