REASON FOR LOSS:
The Gruppe took off to intercept incoming enemy aircraft. The air battle commenced over the sea of Ostend. Fw Danneberg was attacked and shot down by Spitfires and was last seen to fall into the sea 6 - 10 km from shore. The incident was witnessed by a Flak battery E of Ostend.
