REASON FOR LOSS:
This aircraft was shot down in combat by a Hurricane of No.111 Squadron over the Thames Estuary during attack on Eastchurch aerodrome. Dornier forced landed and ended up laying across the Canterbury - Folkestone railway line at Pherbec Bridge, Barham, Kent. Oblt Osswald was the Staffel Fuehrer of Stab/KG2.
