Geographic feature renaming project.
With many thanks to the great work that the Airman's Memorial Cairns Committee, Royal Canadian Legion, McGrane Branch No 28, Lac La Biche, Alberta and the Geographical Names Board of Canada have done / are doing with renaming the many lakes and other geographical features in Canada after service men / women.
This is in the form of a "google" map page with added information and links shown below the map - the same links can be found on the aircraft locater markers on the map. Any further information that you are able to supply would be gratefully received.
The research for this section of our Society website is undertaken by Colin Bamford.

We are working very closely with the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources, Manitoba geographical names project and the Saskatchewan Tourism Parks, culture and sports department to show with the aid of Google maps where many of the WW2 Aviators are being remembered.
