Who are we?
The Aircrew remembrance Society will, with the continued help from the public, form the missing and fallen personal photographic register. Dedicated to airman who tragically lost their lives through war! The pictorial companion to the Public Records Office, whose massive archive details many pilots/aircrew losses.
The Commonwealth War Graves Commission proudly record's their names ....... carved in stone.
The Aircrew Remembrance Society's contribution will be; who they were, their faces, their loved one's , their lives!
Our duty is to preserve their photographic memory, to lose these faces the first time was a tragedy, losing them a second time is a monumental loss for our nation's wartime aviation heritage.
We would very much like to hear from anyone who can contribute to our growing archive.
Slowly a list is being compiled regarding the people who are working with us as shown. Many more have yet to be added.
You can also send us a message by using this contact form.
As our site is rapidly expanding we understand the frustration of perhaps not being able to find the information you seek. In order to assist you as much as possible we have incorporated a google search engine in the site that can be found "here", we have also a site map for various sections- one for the general pages here, then we have a similar one for each year and nationality. We do have many other losses that are currently being researched or being prepared for the website. However, if you have information that you wish to send use this page or the contact form.

Please email us - we could use advertisements in order to assist in paying for our site, as others do, but feel that the majority of our readers would rather contact us directly. If, of course the publishers would prefer us to advertise where these items could be purchased direct - we will of course consider it.

Colin Bamford - Researcher
Colin Bamford – recently retired Quality Assurance Manager for a heavy truck manufacturer. Living in St.Thomas Ontario with his partner and love of his life, Eleanor, who constantly provides home baked cookies and much valuable support. Proud father of five sons and three grandchildren.
Colin enjoys all things mechanical especially driving and working on his Pontiac Fiero, in the summer of course, as well as a love of nature. One of Colin and Eleanor’s favourite hikes being that around the former BCATP No. 4 B & G School, now a nature preserve, from which so many courageous aircrews graduated.
While researching the loss of his cousin Norman Bamford, he became interested in volunteering for the ARS. Fortunately, for Colin and his relatives, Norman is mentioned several times in the book ‘Night Fighter’ by Rawnsley and Wright giving valuable insite into his exploits during his time in the service of his country. Alas, so many others are not so fortunate, being a mere name carved in stone their brave deeds and ultimate fate never to be known.
Colin is very active in assisting the Aircrew Remembrance Society and regularly contributes articles for us. We are delighted with the accuracy of the information and the speed that he works. Great to have him "on board".
